Sounds

The sounds of Ecuador are most interesting. When we were in the Andes looking at the volcano, I noted that at once I could hear the thunder of the volcano, bleating of sheep, chirping of birds, and the din of spoken Spanish. Most unusual. And unlike my last trip, I¨ve heard lots of local music. Our guides have taken us to various places where bands play hoping we will then purchase their cd´s. I love the music, especially the flute sounds. And then there are the sounds from within my room at the hostel. There is a dog who seems to regularly bark at dusk and a rooster who documents sunrise. (a rooster in the city?) And of course, as Anne will note, there is the roar of the traffic zooming down the city streets.
